There is a humorous story about a confrontation between a scientist and an old lady.
I don't know if it is true, but here's the Wikipedia reference:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turt...e_way_down
What it made me think of is one of the problems that I have with Intelligent Design.
Oversimplified, the premise of ID is:
The universe is of such a high order,
that it must have been built by something of a higher order.
If that is true, then logically, this "higher order creator" must have been created
by something of an even higher order.
It's God's all the way up!
What do you think?

Bubba,
Logic has no place in ID -- it's religion, not science. I've no problem with it as a religion, but it's not science and should not be taught as, or within the context of, such.

I agree, but many times what I see happening is religious leaders trying to apply logic to faulty premises. That is what I was trying to illustrate here.
Thanks for responding.

Re: Turtles All The Way Down
Tue, February 21, 2006 - 9:40 PMI wanted to make a comment on the concept that if there's a God , indeed, then he too was created by something higher...I've challenged Christians on this...and they tell that "in the bible is said that God would give us the knowledge of creation when the final judgement day comes"...this just fills my lack of believe of a divine and supernatural deity...why should we wait until then, if it were to happen?...by the way is there a set date for that??? -

Wed, February 22, 2006 - 2:59 PMThanks for responding to the post. I'm new to tribe.
Your thought and mine are just simple critical thinking, and that's not what we're supposed to do.
It took me a long time to realise that doubt/skeptism, not faith, was a virtue. -
